Jeremy Makinson lives and works in
the Ribble Valley.
Having started as a photographer at the age of 18, he
went on to open his own studio in 1987 working successfully as a general
photographer, he then went on to specialize in weddings and portraits
using his knowledge of art and lighting together with the great
backdrops in the local area to create fabulous images, having won the
national wedding photographer of the year, he then went on to receive
the highest accolade as the
youngest ever Fellow of the British institute of photography in 1989.
His studio went from strength to strength he
as photographed famous faces, heads of state and foreign and British
Royalty, he has lectured on photography in Europe and the Americas, for
Kodak and Fuji film, as one of the founders of the countries leading
franchise brands Venture portraits he has helped to revolutionized studio
portrait photography in the UK, however although still involved, he has
handed the day to day running of the studio over to a manager so he can
return to his first love of environmental photography using the natural
surroundings to create a unique work of personal art, and also
enjoy a more relaxed style of life.
